We wanted to create a series of workshops that personifies what New Zealand is to us, that impactful emotive side which we strive to emulate in each of our photographs, whilst sharing the technical aspects that come with landscape photography.
Our itineraries have been purposefully designed to incorporate specific locations to give our clients the best chance of photographing the unique scenery and capture that once in a life time photo of the Milky Way.
We believe in the ethos of responsible and sustainable tourism practices which is reflected throughout our products. We prefer to use locally owned hotels and ground agents which not only ensures our delegates have a more authentic experience but also gives back and supports the local community.
Ultimately our goal is to show you our New Zealand, a place where you will witness overwhelming beauty and sublime scenary and hopefully capture and convey the experience you’ve had on film.
Paul Wilson
Paul Wilson is a world-renowned photographer, whose images have captivated thousands across the globe with his stunning images of New Zealand’s picturesque landscapes illuminated beneath the Milky Way’s bright cluster of stars. Each image constructed transports the viewer to a place of overwhelming beauty, evoking feelings of freedom, wonder and disbelief. Despite being a wedding photographer by day, it was Paul’s breathtaking astrophotography that has seen him featured in ——– and have/has been inspiring stargazers from around the world to make their way to Aotearoa – The land of the long white cloud. Pauls desire to share his knowledge and love of the wonderous New Zealand landscape resonated with friend and associate Hemi Harawira, resulting in the creation of specialised workshops for photographers – Scenic Workshops New Zealand.
Hemi Harawira
Hemi Harawira is the brain child behind the Australian electronic media company ‘Pixel Matrix’ and a talented photographer to boot. Originating from the South Island of New Zealand, Hemi has spent the last 16 years honing his talents in both studio, commercial and glamour photography, videography and digital media to create a unique, varied and much sought after skill-set. Hemi’s love of the New Zealand landscape and terrain was cultivated from his background of competitive adventure sports. This combined with his passion of digital media and photography naturally lead him to a collaboration with his long-time friend Paul Wilson to create workshops designed to showcase New Zealand’s landscape.
